Bob R. Tucker embodies 30 years of railroad-accident investigation experience and expertise. His investigations, conducted over more than a generation, have covered all types of train operations, encompassing freight train, passenger train, and train swithing operations.
He served as director of the Santa Fe Railroad’s critical-incident "Go Team" dispatched to the scene of major train accidents to investigate, determine cause, and place responsibility. His team included an engineering/track specialist and a mechanical/railroad cars/locomotive specialist.
Bob’s other duties during this tenure extended to assisting the Santa Fe legal department with train-related accident claims and operating employee personal-accident claims. Bob also served as corporate expert witness when cases went to trial.
Prior to achieving his position as General Manager of Train Handling with Santa Fe, Bob was promoted through the ranks, absorbing know-how as he progressed. From his entry as Locomotive Fireman, through successively higher Foreman and Supervisor positions, Bob built on his knowledge and translated an early love for trains into a lifelong passion.
